And Some History…

Klockaren, The sacristan, was the pastor’s ”right hand” and was in charge of the evening prayers and instructed the prisoners in church song and religion. His duties included also funerals and order supervision. He served in the Spinnhuskyrkan. Today the building is used as residential premises. One of Långholmen’s colourful personages was sacristan Diedric Johan Trundman. He was famous for his careless lifestyle and his drinking more and more over the years. This Trundman person is included in C M Bellman’s ”Chapter of Order” and is described there in a not so honourable manner.
