About

The Wollin conference room is located in the so called director’s lounge where the adjacent rooms are named after the prison’s former directors. The peculiar shape of the conference table gives the room character and invites to an inspiring meeting.

History

Axel Wollin was aprison director between 1903 and 1914. Before that, he worked at the penal institution in Svartsjö. He too, just like Tellander, became famous for his cruelty and his insistence on corporate punishment. He ruled Långholmen with an iron hand and he took very little notice of the debate back then on the need for more humane correctionaltreatment of prisoners. Both prisoners and personnel spoke of him as a very strict director.
