Responsibility over time<\/h2>\n

As early as 1990, a group of enthusiasts working at L\u00e5ngholmen got engaged in environmental issues. It was back then the first environmental group was created. At the beginning, almost all environmental work was about waste and sorting it out in different fractions, something which was not easy considering that there were no sufficiently developed systems for receiving sorted waste.<\/p>\n

Working actively with the environment, however, does not mean that we have been successful in stopping all CO2 discharges. The company Zeromission has helped us calculate and offset for our impact on the climate, which is used to support forestry project \u201cTrees for global benefit\u201d in Uganda. Some activities that the project supports are the re-planting of native species in order to give farmers access to building materials, biofuels and food, and to involve people in decision-making. Sustainable agroforestry also leads to an improvement in the quality of degraded soils and enhancing biodiversity.<\/p>\n

Climate compensation<\/h2>\n

We at L\u00e5ngholmen Hotell & Restaurang have chosen to get involved in the project Clean burning stoves in Zambia via GoClimate. This project improves health conditions and quality of life in addition to combating climate change in Zambian households. The consumption of local wood fuel is reduced thanks to this project by up to 70%. The company GoClimate focuses on slowing climate change above all by reducing carbon dioxide emissions through a number of climate projects worldwide.<\/p>\n

Klimatkompensation<\/h2>\r\n

Vi kompenserar f\u00f6r verksamhetens klimatp\u00e5verkan.<\/strong> Genom f\u00f6retaget Zeromission har vi f\u00e5tt hj\u00e4lp att ber\u00e4kna v\u00e5r klimatp\u00e5verkan. 2017 kompenserade vi f\u00f6r 55 ton CO2, bl.a. f\u00f6r uppv\u00e4rmning, elektricitet, tj\u00e4nsteresor, tj\u00e4nstefordon och pappersf\u00f6rbrukning. Genom att jobba aktivt med milj\u00f6n f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker vi st\u00e4ndigt att minska v\u00e5r milj\u00f6p\u00e5verkan och v\u00e5ra CO2-utsl\u00e4pp. Klimatkompensationen \u00e4r ett komplement till L\u00e5ngholmen Hotell & Restaurangs milj\u00f6arbete.<\/p>\r\n

V\u00e5r klimatkompensation g\u00e5r, genom Zeromission, till tr\u00e4dplanteringsprojektet \u201dTrees for global benefit\u201d i Uganda, i samarbete med sm\u00e5brukare. H\u00e5llbarhet innefattar f\u00f6rutom klimatet utan socialt ansvar.<\/strong> Ett s\u00e4tt L\u00e5ngholmen engagera sig i detta arbete \u00e4r att vi \u00e4r barnbyfadder till en SOS Barnbyn i Mamelodi i Sydafrika. Barnbyn tar hand om barnen som bor i barnbyn samt st\u00f6ttar \u00e4ven de barn och familjer som bor i det n\u00e4rliggande samh\u00e4llet. F\u00f6rutom att barnen f\u00e5r ett hem och omsorg av sina barnbymammor s\u00e5 f\u00e5r de ocks\u00e5 g\u00e5 i skolan vilket de \u00e4r v\u00e4ldigt glada f\u00f6r.
